A scaled back version of the Green Line extension to Medford and Somerville continues to move along, according to the latest update from the state Department of Transportation (MassDOT).
Three design-build teams submitted bids on September 28, GLX Constructors, Green Line Partners, and Walsh Barletta Granite, JV.
“…each [represents] a consortium of highly qualified design, engineering, and construction entities,” said MassDOT in a statement.
The bids are currently under formal review by the GLX Program Management Team. Project managers will select the winning bidder on December 11, which is almost two months ahead of schedule. The earlier selection date will allow the contractor to “take full advantage of the 2018 construction season,” said MassDOT.
In the mean time, track and signal work will continue near Medford’s future College Avenue station seven days a week, including weekend overnight work.
The anticipated project completion date is December 2021.
