14 Candidates Advance in City Council Race

Fourteen of the fifteen candidates participating in a preliminary election for City Council on September 12 will be on the ballot in November, according to unofficial results.

All seven incumbents are up for re-election: Rick Caraviello, Fred Dello Russo, Jr., John Falco, Adam Knight, Breanna Lungo-Koehn, Michael Marks, and George Scarpelli.

The seven new candidates in the running are Natalie Breen, Robert Cappucci, Ann Marie Cugno (current School Committee member), Cheryl Rodriguez, George Sacco, Remo Scarfo, and Curtis Tuden. Andrew Castagnetti didn’t make it past the preliminary election.

On Tuesday, November 7 an election will be held for the offices of Mayor, School Committee, and City Council. The top six and top seven winners will earn seats on the School Committee and City Council, respectively. Each office has a two year term.
