Preliminary Election for City Council Candidates Sept. 12th

On Tuesday, September 12 the city will hold a preliminary election to narrow down the field of candidates running for City Council.

All seven incumbents are up for re-election: Rick Caraviello, Fred Dello Russo, Jr., John Falco, Adam Knight, Breanna Lungo-Koehn, Michael Marks, and George Scarpelli.

The eight new candidates in the running are Natalie Breen, Robert Cappucci, Andrew Castagnetti, Ann Marie Cugno (current School Committee member), Cheryl Rodriguez, George Sacco, Remo Scarfo, and Curtis Tuden.

Polls will be open from 7 am to 8 pm on September 12.

A sample ballot and polling locations are available on the city website.

Fourteen of the fifteen candidates will advance to the November election.

On Tuesday, November 7 an election will be held for the offices of Mayor, School Committee, and City Council. The top six and top seven winners will earn seats on the School Committee and City Council, respectively. Each office has a two year term.
