Hundreds Gather for ‘Resisting Hate’ Rally

Several Medford organizations joined together to organize a “city-wide rally to resist hate” on Thursday night at the Condon Shell.

According to a participant, Dan Kennedy, several hundred people participated in the rally. Kennedy posted video of the rally to Instragram.

Mayor Stephanie M. Burke’s office and the city’s Office of Diversity are co-sponsoring two events along with Medford’s Interfaith Clergy Association, SafeMedford, Medford Community Coalition, Indivisible Mystic Valley with support from the NAACP, and Tufts Interfaith Chaplaincy.

The next event is a vigil on Sunday, August 20 at 7 pm at Grace Episcopal Church in Medford Square. The vigil will recognize the victims of the violence in Charlottesville, VA.
