Several Medford organizations have joined together to offer events in the name of peace and community.
Mayor Stephanie M. Burke’s office and the city’s Office of Diversity are co-sponsoring two events along with Medford’s Interfaith Clergy Association, SafeMedford, Medford Community Coalition, Indivisible Mystic Valley with support from the NAACP, and Tufts Interfaith Chaplaincy.
A rally is taking place on Thursday, August 17 at the Condon Shell on Route 16. The “city-wide rally to resist hate” begins with sign-making at 7 pm while the rally will begin at 7:30 pm.
The vigil is taking place on Sunday, August 20 at 7 pm at Grace Episcopal Church in Medford Square. The event will recognize the victims of the violence in Charlottesville, VA.
Both events are free and open to the public.
