Target Opening in Salem Street Location Soon to be Vacated by Stop & Shop
Target is announcing plans to open a 32,000 square foot small-format store at the Medford Plaza in Medford, Mass. Target has signed a lease with The Grossman Companies for this small-format store, projected to open in March 2018. The Medford location will be the company’s 33rd store in the Boston area, and the company’s sixth small-format in the area, joining existing locations at Boston Fenway, Packard’s Corner, Cambridge Central Square, Stoneham Redstone Plaza stores as well as the Roslindale location projected to open in March 2018.
Target’s strategic priorities include reaching guests in new ways by expanding small-format stores in dense suburban and urban neighborhoods, as well as on college campuses. With Target’s small-format stores, assortments are tailored to meet the needs of local guests. The Medford store will provide neighboring residents in Medford and Malden a quick-trip shopping experience with a curated assortment mix, including:
– A grocery selection including fresh produce, grab-and-go items, snacks and meal solutions
– An assortment of health, personal care and beauty products, featuring natural and organic products
– A curated assortment of home and décor essentials
– Kids apparel, accessories and back-to-school items
– Mens and women’s apparel and accessories
– Services will include a CVS Pharmacy and Order Pickup
Target’s Order Pickup service offers even more convenience and added security with the ability to buy online and pick up in store. Online orders are typically ready for pickup at the store within one hour.
Target plans to operate more than 130 small-format stores by the end of 2019. Guests who visit the 36 small-format stores currently open around the country have responded well to having these customized shopping experiences available in their neighborhoods.
