patriotic strawberries

This fun and patriotic dessert comes together fast! Have your children help decorate the strawberries after you melt the chocolate.


Pint of strawberries (or really as many as you like)
Blue sprinkles (you will find these in the baking aisle alongside other decorative products)
White chocolate chips (dairy-free/vegan: make a quick glaze with coconut milk and powdered sugar)


– Line a baking sheet with parchment paper

– Pour the blue sprinkles into a wide, shallow bowl or dish

– Melt the white chocolate chips in the microwave in a few rounds of 20 seconds followed by stirring, or in a double-boiler on the stove (gently heat up about an inch of water in a small saucepan and melt the chocolate chips by stirring them inside a bowl stacked on top of the saucepan)

– When the chocolate is melted, carefully dip a strawberry into the chocolate about 2/3 of the way up the berry so you leave a border of red at the top

– Then gently dip just the end the chocolate-covered strawberry into the blue sprinkles

– Place each completed berry on the parchment paper

– Refrigerate until ready to serve


– Take any melted chocolate you have leftover and make chocolate bark! Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, pour the chocolate over it, spread it out, and toss nuts, dried fruit, or shredded coconut on top

– Keep the chocolate-covered strawberries cold until you’re ready to eat them
