Maria Menounos, a 1996 Medford High School graduate known most recently as a host for E! News, revealed she is recovering after having a benign brain tumor removed.
Menounos’ mother, Litsa, is currently battling Stage 4 brain cancer. When Menounos heard her own diagnosis in the winter, she said she actually laughed.
“It’s so surreal and crazy and unbelievable that my mom has a brain tumor—and now I have one too?” She told People magazine.
Menounos, who quit her hosting gig with E!, opened up about her experience on social media, sharing a photo of herself and her mom.
“I want you all to know that I’m ok! Seriously I’m recovering well and should be as good as new very very soon! Luckily I don’t need any further treatments but I can’t say the same about my mom. So please keep her in your prayers.”
Menounos’ diverse resume includes acting, producing, writing, and reporting. She hosts a radio show on SiriusXM, is CEO of AfterBuzz TV, and is a best-selling author of “The Every Girl’s Guide to” series.
