Medford Eats! July 1st Food Festival featuring Medford’s Best Restaurants & Food Trucks, a New Orleans Jazz Band Parade, Beer Garden & Interactive Art Project.
The Medford Community Coalition is excited to launch Medford Eats! a food festival celebrating the diverse and delicious eateries here in our city. Listen to local bands, try some local beer, and enjoy tasty food from the best restaurants and food trucks in Medford. The event will take place on Saturday, July 1st from 4:00 pm- 8:00 pm in the parking lot adjacent to Medford City Hall located at City Hall Mall in Medford Square.
Medford Eats is open to all that want to experience Medford’s diverse cultural tastes. Participants can purchase food from any establishment, and will find at least one dish for $5 or under at each vendor. The event is open to all ages, with a 21+ beer garden featuring brews from Medford Brewing Company, along with wine and cider.
Attendees can also start the day off with a New-Orleans style brass band parade led by The Revolutionary Snake Ensemble starting at 3:30pm at the Medford Public Library. Parade goers will gather at 3:15 and are encouraged to wear over-the-top colorful clothing and costumes, funny hats and silly accessories as we festively march down to City Hall.
Live music will also be provided by The Flying Cattaneos, providing fun, original music and cover songs from one of Medford’s great musical families, as well as original and soulful music from Boston-music award winners The Blue Ribbons.
The growing list of participating restaurants include Tenoch, Chicken & Rice Guys, Roving Lunch Box, Frozen Hoagies, Mystic Coffee Roasters, CB Scoops, Smashburger, Lisa’s Pizzeria, and others.
Attendees can also participate in a community art project by creating the foliage for an up-cycled tree constructed of records, CDs and bottle caps.
Medford Eats! is a perfect opportunity to get a taste of the local fare in the City of Medford. The event is produced by the Medford Community Coalition, and sponsored by Mystic Coffee Roaster, Wegmans, Brookline Bank, the City of Medford and Re/Max Andrew Realty. Additionally, Medford Eats! is supported by generous grants from ArtsAlive Medford Foundation and the Medford Arts Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
