Residents, business-owners, and employees are invited to complete a survey that will help identify priority beautification projects in five of the business districts where parking kiosks exist. To fund these projects, Mayor Stephanie M. Burke will request that $250,000 be appropriated by the City Council from free cash. $50,000 will be utilized in each of the five squares – Medford Square, West Medford, Haines Square, Hillside, and South Medford.
Possible projects consist of benches, bike racks, flower pots, public art, as well as ideas put forth by the community. Once the information has been gathered, projects specific to each business district will be identified and the allocation and projects will be viewed by City Council. If approved, then City Departments will work with the community to address and complete the selected projects.
