Here We Go Again- More Snow, No School, Snow Emergency in Place

– Allison Goldsberry

After five straight days of snow, Medford and the area could have at least another foot when the flakes stop falling by Monday night.

The latest forecast from the National Weather Service calls for three to five inches on Sunday afternoon, five to nine on Sunday night, and three to five on Monday. The area is also under a Winter Storm Warning until 7:00 pm Monday.

The Medford Public Schools has joined Malden, Somerville, Lynn, Boston, and Arlington in closing school on Monday. This is Medford’s fourth weather-related closing, with three straight for snow and one for extremely cold weather.

There is a snow emergency in Medford as of 4:00 pm Sunday until further notice. This means no parking on main roads and even-side parking only on side streets. More details about the snow emergency are available on the city website.

Trash pick-up is also being delayed by one day this week since there will be no pick-up on Monday.
