Medford Native Competing With National Women’s Hockey Team in World Games

Medford native and 2014 MHS graduate Brittani Lanzilli has been competing with the 2017 U.S. Women’s National University Team at the Winter World University Games in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The games are taking place from January 28 through February 8. Lanzilli plays center for the U.S. team and had an assist on a goal against Russia, which ultimately defeated the Americans 7-1. The U.S. beat Japan 3-2. The team plays Canada on Saturday, February 4.

Lanzilli, a junior at UMass-Amherst, is the reigning ACHA Zoe Harris Player of the Year who led the nation in goals (49) and points (68) in 2015-16, according to USAHockey.com. While at MHS, Lanzilli became just the third female in Massachusetts high school hockey (MIAA) history to score 300 career points.
